Couples Therapy in Long Beach & Lakewood

Same fight, different day? Couples therapy gives you practical, research-based tools to stop the cycle and feel like a team again.

How I work with couples

I’m direct and structured, and couples tell me they appreciate that. We identify the pattern you keep getting stuck in, then practice new ways of talking, listening, and repairing.

My approach draws on the Gottman Method, built on decades of research into what makes relationships last, plus attachment theory to understand why certain fights hit so hard.

I work with couples of every gender and orientation, and queer couples are a big part of my practice. More about LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy

What we can work on

  • Communication breakdowns and recurring arguments
  • Rebuilding trust after betrayal or infidelity
  • Feeling disconnected or more like roommates
  • Premarital counseling
  • Parenting stress and big life transitions
  • Deciding whether to stay together
  • Queer couples and relationship structures, including polyamory and ENM

Brief and focused

You won’t be in couples therapy forever. Most couples work with me for 8 to 10 sessions, leaving with skills they can keep using on their own. Intensive sessions are available if you want to make faster progress.

Common questions

What if my partner doesn’t want to come?

That’s common. We can start with individual sessions for you, and many partners join once they see it’s practical, not a blame session.

Do you do online couples therapy?

Yes. Online sessions are available anywhere in California, and you can join from the same room or from separate locations.

How much does couples therapy cost?

Couples sessions are $225. A sliding scale is available, and I can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement.

Do you see LGBTQIA+ couples?

Yes. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, and all couples are welcome.
